  4. Know the purpose of writing. What is the main reason for writing the essay? Is it for entertainment, informative, define or any other purpose. Knowing your goal makes it much easier to start the introduction.
  5. Manage the tone. The essay should talk to the reader and not shout at him or her. Ensure that the essay flows and does not confuse the reader. Make sure the tone is professional and informative. Try as much as possible to sound authoritative.
